This is a very appropriate shirt for a formal occasion - maybe not for the Met Gala, but for a wedding, prom etc, it will certainly find its place find price. It's light enough not to get too hot under a jacket, but thick enough not to be see-through. It's soft and comfortable and fits just right. The only thing I didn't like was that the black rivets are pretty cheap - you'll definitely need your own rivets and cufflinks.
