This purchase was a restocking. I am a retired commercial broadcast and instrumentation engineer. I have been repairing all types of electronics from consumer electronics to modern commercial test equipment since the early 70's. I've been using Caig products since the early 1980's so around 30 years. It was first recommended to me by John Fluke for use in the decade switches of an AC calibrator. (I'm not saying they recommend it now, they just recommended it then.) I've been using "Cramolin Red," as it used to be called, for countless uses ever since. This is the ONLY product I have seen that satisfactorily cancels a noisy position potentiometer on an analog oscilloscope. (Gives instant feedback on how well it worked due to the smooth track movement. A noisy potentiometer causes uneven track control.) When it came time to overhaul my Nakamichi 1000 recorder, I used it to clean and rework slide potentiometers , switches and edge connectors are used. I use a tiny drop on the contacts and turn on every flashlight I have. No more variable intensity. Caig makes other products for other applications. I have used many of these. But that's what I used the most. It hasn't let me down in 30 years. For technology enthusiasts: how it works. Cramolin Red (Deoxit) is specially formulated not to stick to itself. As a result, it can easily be reduced to a monomolecular thickness under contact pressure. The liquid itself is 10 x 10 12 ohms per cm, but this resistance is reduced to almost zero at a monomolecular thickness, it is reduced to contact pressure. At the same time, it dissolves oxides and impurities so that they can be wiped off. It leaves a very light protective layer that blocks further contact oxidation. Keep in mind that this is not a universal solvent. There was an older contact lubricant called "Rickon" which over time leaves a waxy coating on the contacts that must be removed mechanically (with an eraser). Deoxidation does not remove it. But for treating clean or untreated contacts, this material is simply unbeatable. doc
