Review on πŸ“· Canon RF24-105mm F4-7.1 is STM (4111C002) - Versatile Lens for Stunning Photography and Videography by Bohyun Rossetti

The second one works fine (Beware Revain shipping)

I ordered this lens for my Canon EOS R5 because I couldn't get the EF-RF adapter. I also needed a lens of that focal length. The first arrived DOA. I kept getting an error message. I even called Canon tech support and couldn't get the lens to work. The item has been returned for an exchange. (See below for more information on how Revain ships.) I probably won't buy another Canon product from Revain. Canon does not seal their boxes and my Revain replacement was sent in its original packaging and left on my doorstep. From now on I will only buy from a trusted seller (most Canon prices are the same across brands). Now let's compare this lens. .I think this is a great lens for the price. I really needed a lens with this focal length for some of my projects, especially for long exposures. I prefer the lighter weight and smaller profile of this lens. This lens complements my RF 100-500mm lens which is an excellent lens. with a focal length of 100 mm. That's an expensive lens. If I couldn't get RF 100-500 or 70-200 to supplement. Instead, I would go with the Canon RF 24-240mm lens. I think it's on par with this lens in the same focal length range, but performs slightly better in the 70-105mm range due to the smaller aperture. I would also appreciate the extra 100+mm of zoom it offers. Next question: how does it fit with the RF 24-105mm f4 L? I would say pretty good. I've tried both, the more expensive lens has better image quality and more versatility at longer focal lengths. I do a lot of telephoto photography (wildlife etc) and have opted for the cheaper F4-7.1 version here rather than the L-series lens, mainly because of the price. I feel the image quality is still excellent with F4-7.1. If you don't need a lot, very little light, weather protection and uncompromising quality, you'll be happy with the F4-7.1 in my opinion.
