My iMac works amazingly well when paired with a 1TB OWC SSD. Look at the read and write speeds. The time difference is the time it takes for the web page to load and then run. The first time installation is not easy, I took my time and dusted off many parts. But it can easily be done in 90 minutes with no pressure. Since you opened the case, you can swap out the RAM.
