I needed to hang a fairly heavy extension ladder under some cabinets in my garage and had very little room to work with. These brackets are great for that. (The only catch is that the rope on the extension ladder can get in the way a bit, but the brackets themselves do the job well.) I had to modify the brackets a bit by removing the cap and cutting off 1 inch for my application, but no big deal - I expected that. Some of the previous reviews are correct - the screws that come with the brackets look ok but they are round headed with shallow depth and easy to remove. Just plan on using a few pan head screws and you'll be fine. Also, many complain about the size. Sizes listed are external dimensions, 6.3" wide x 9.4" high. You may need INSIDE dimensions of 4.85" wide x 7.95" high. .
