This adapter allows miniature light bulbs to be used in standard sockets. It was a must for me to use the new fancy high efficiency LED bulbs in my chandelier. They look great and give the same light with a twentieth the electricity. In one, the light went out when it was turned tight. Rolling back an eighth of a turn solved the problem.
