All about Sandra

One of the big problems I've always had with Betzina is that she generalizes to everyone else. In the world of SB, all women are shaped like pregnant magic wands and dress like eccentric old ladies. This book is no exception. A better title would be Sandra Betzina's Wacky Wardrobe, Step by Step. Here the emphasis is on creating specific items from their own closet rather than useful methods of creating a variety of clothing items. Appropriate advice is skewed towards her much-publicized theory that most women have small buttocks and huge bellies. Even the models in the photos suffer from pants, that hang down at the crotch and fall below the panty line at the back waistband when the leg bends. There's also too much space to show you how to recreate those horrific vests that are their trademark. It was a lot easier to show the basic techniques on TV, despite the terrible styles and poor fit advice, there's not much in print. There may be gems hidden within the pages of the book, but digging them up takes more time than they're worth. SB has loads of sewing info to share and hopefully one day she'll write a book that makes ego at home. but digging them up takes more time than they're worth.
