UPDATE: I was very annoyed and disassembled the device. Of course it's all glued, the screws don't need to be unscrewed, so I had to disassemble the case to get at it. In my humble opinion, the problem with these recorders is that the manufacturer uses a second-rate, crappy USB connector. After more than a few cycles of connecting/disconnecting the cable, it just won't hold up. The registrar worked several times, but now, a week after closing the return window, it is no longer mounted on the computer. I've tried multiple USB cables and multiple computers with no success. It was unreliable when REALLY working, as it didn't like staying connected to the desktop and would disconnect when it wanted to. It takes several attempts to download all files. But now he's completely dead.
