My 54 inch daughter wears a size 8-10 - it's a bit big for her but the material fits decently and comfortably. The skirt has a slightly dropped waist and relaxed subtle pleats. She is very happy with it and I think it is perfect for school. She had a similar school uniform dress from Landsend, which she outgrew. It's nicer stuff. Yes, I would recommend.
