This light is very bright, much brighter than eg Fluval 3.0. It is very intense and the red plant grows very well. This works great if you have a deep tank, the light reaches the bottom of the tank. I have it alongside Fluval 3.0 and the difference in growth rate and color is striking. It produces algae if you don't change the water regularly or if you have too many nutrients in the tank, and if you have a shallow tank you may need to raise it higher. Overall I'm very happy with this light, it spans about 24 inches wide, maybe more the higher it's lifted. The price is also very good compared to other lamps. But the intensity is much higher than finnex 24/7 and also fluval 3.0. Not sure how it compares to other top brands but then you pay a lot more for it.
