Review on ๐ŸŒ€ AC Infinity AIRCOM T9: Silent Cooling Fan System for Receivers, Amps, DVRs & AV Cabinets by Maurice Cunha

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is great, but clearly meant to be used with.

Shipping packaging was good - not too much plastic/foam but just enough to protect the product. I'm glad it wasn't a box, in a box, in a box. It just worries me. Installation and setup is extremely easy. To install, place your receiver on top and plug in. It takes a minute to set up - there are 4 modes. Auto and Smart modes are very similar, with Smart reducing fan speed as the measured temperature drops. I set it to automatic and the trigger is set to 88. You can set it to shut off 2 or 4 degrees below the trigger (mine is set at 2 degrees). I've attached a video to show the relative accuracy of an internal sensor versus an external infrared thermometer. The readings were pretty close, but a few points at AC infinity were actually higher than the trip temperature setting. It seemed to work when the air coming out of the receiver was very close to the outside gauge. I've seen other reviewers modify their systems with duct tape or seals. I'll probably do the same, but I had my hand under the receiver with the fans on and I could feel the airflow! So do not overdo it with maximum efficiency. The system covers my entire receiver and aligns front to back and left to right. I would like to point out that the fans line up with the back of the vents (see photo), while the heatsink inside the receiver faces the front. However, the system moves enough air to keep all components cool. I have wire frames so the components above and below would be useful as well. One final note, although I'm using this with a Yamaha RX-V683BT, it's clearly intended for use with a Marantz. I agree, my gear is in the closet, but it's something to consider if you're picky about aesthetics. Overall I am happy with this product and confident that it will extend the life of my receiver.
