I've been using it for over a year and just now noticed that it stinks a bit. . . It's probably my fault for never washing it. I just ran it through the wash but since I can't tumble dry it I don't expect it to get rid of the mildew smell. So I went back to buy a new one! I have lots of thick hair (medium/long length) and a small/medium sized head and this is perfect for me. My hair never gets wet, there is enough room for it and it is not too tight on my head. If you have a big head I can see it might be too tight. Only complaint is that I wish there were more colors/designs! If I have to replace it annually, it's more than worth it! I will come back next year for another one :)
