I love this item. Doesn't matter. I live in suburban Los Angeles and the water is awful. Gives you dry itchy skin and crunchy hair. I mean municipal water sources should be ashamed. Who knows what's in that water. In any case, after doing some research on hair porosity, I found information that hard water can be the reason why the product isn't working on your curls and a recommendation for this brand of filters as they are suitable for use in the shower. I live in an apartment, so a complete system is out of the question. Given the price, there were no problems with the purchase. After a few weeks I can feel a big difference in my skin texture. No more itching and breakouts. My hair feels softer and curls start to tangle better as the mineral buildup dissolves. Even my eyes don't dry out or turn red after getting out of the shower due to water irritation. Another unexpected surprise was that my Calathea Freddy plant loves filtered water! I did my best to take care of it because every time I watered it with distilled water, the leaves turned yellow and died. But now she is much happier and there are no more yellow leaves. The packaging looks good, not flimsy. In addition, the product has a good weight and a polished chrome finish, making it look great in the bathroom. Installation was very easy. Just a few shims and twists and I was done in a minute or two. Everything comes in a box with two extra filter pads, and the instructions are pretty straightforward. The only minor comment I have is that the seal in the center of the case is not that good. I noticed it dripping. So I tried opening it to check and make sure the seal was there and in good condition. Everything seems fine, but there is still a small drop. I don't care, although the thing is still great and replacement filters aren't expensive. Overall, I recommend it and am happy with my purchase.
