HP has not yet distributed software that will allow the HP Scanjet 4850 scanner to work with the new Microsoft Vista operating system. The software on the supplied CD does not work with Vista. HP lets you download a basic version that only allows you to use the scanner for very basic things. But as of March 8, 2007, they still haven't released the full version. Maybe someone forgot to tell HP that Vista was developed in the past few years?
