Our old 1 1/3 PS badger broke. I'm not sure how old he is because he came with the house but the vegetable peeler clogged the pipe and broke the seal on the garbage chute and it was dripping from the bottom. I was going to hire someone to fix it but decided to do it myself. I bought this upgrade from the same brand from Badger (with power cord) and I'm glad I did! I removed the old one and replaced it with the new one. Everything fits! Everything you need is included, including a key to move the blades underneath if they get stuck. Also comes with a cork which is great because it wasn't in the house when we bought it. **Tip: If you have dishwasher cord, be sure to punch a hole and get the loose piece in. Plug everything back in and test with an ice cube. It shredded it faster and quieter than our old Badger 1. The hardest part was the weight of the machine. It would be easier if you had help. I went under the sink to lift the unit and align the bottom mounting ring and my husband screwed it in. **Tip: Insert a screwdriver into one of the holes in the mounting ring to make screwing it in easier.
