You should get your expectation right before buying, there will be some damage. After reading other people's reviews I understand why this TV stand sold at such a good price. If you are willing to take the risk and accept the downsides, you can be happy with this product. The assembly wasn't too difficult. I'm not a handyman, but I've done something like this a few times. I assembled everything myself in 1.5 hours. The hardest part was carrying a very heavy package from my porch to my house. After opening the box, I didn't find it difficult at all to manipulate and assemble each piece. More damage than I was hoping for, but not too bad overall. The worst of them is a dent in the top plate right in the middle, facing forward. It would be nice if the manufacturer included a colored marker to cover up this damage.2. There is also a dent on one of the 4 front left bars. Luckily it's on the side and not visible from the front.3. The front bar of the floor panel suffered the most. This damage is not from shipping. It was just a matter of quality control. The nails used to attach the plank to the slab were uneven, causing the plank to break during transport. However, since it is only visible from below and affects the design, I decided to just accept it as part of the discounted price. Out of the 3 issues, 3 was the biggest surprise for me. I thought the damage was shipping related, but this is definitely a manufacturing issue. Although the product looks well packaged I see that there are 2 problems. Firstly it was too heavy and you need 2 people to lift it. It will be difficult for delivery people to transport it from place to place. Putting it on my porch can cause last minute damage if there is just one driver to take it off the truck and put it on my porch. Second, the pillow was obviously inadequate. There were so many reports of damage in the reviews that it must have happened when the package fell over a curb while being transported by truck. But even with this "expected" damage, I'm very happy with the product given the low price. For comparison: If this was bought in a furniture store and installed undamaged in your living room, the price would easily double. After this was done and installed in my living room, my wife was very impressed with the TV. I believe that most people will be happy with this product as well, but again, you need to set your expectations first.
