My travel compact camera with amazing image quality

I was looking for a camera with good image quality when I didn't have serious gear with me. It has amazing image quality (within the limits of the type) at ISO 100 or 200. Very good lens; very sharp and rich in contrast, slight barrel distortion at the wide end (24mm) of the CA minimal. Lower resolution (12mp) contributes to high image quality (try not to keep it above 10-12mp if you want to take serious soapbox photos). Noise is very well controlled with a tight, flat image at 100, slightly worse at 200. Amazing image quality even at ISO 400. Much better than a mobile phone with good image stabilization and decent aperture (for this guy). No manual controls, no live histogram, but several different creative modes, plus a simple point-and-shoot mode. I carry mine with me everywhere and don't notice the weight. The size is tiny but manages quite well (use the wrist strap). Exactly what I needed. The model is no longer made, but look and you can still find it (it may be blue, orange, green or whatever) for about 125.00, less if needed. I recommend the Ape Case AC158 Camera Case (Black) to take with you.
