I really like the design and the top is slightly rubberized. (It's not real wood, but it looks very nice in person.) The faux wood surface isn't slippery, so I feel my phone is safer because it won't slip or fall. (Remember, you CANNOT use your phone case while charging. If your unprotected phone falls off the bedside table, you could get fried.) I need to charge wirelessly because my regular charging port on my phone has stopped working. I ended up using this thing as a car charger, on a treadmill, as a travel/portable/overnight charger. It's the only thing my phone supports and it's great. Super clean design with a small white LED that lights up while charging. I'm a fan!
