The grip is excellent, the silicone that holds it can cause injury. According to the measurement chart, 5 inches above the knee is 20 inches, so I ordered an L. The first night I wore them, the silicone dug into my thighs and caused blisters on my legs. I stand for 10 hour shifts with minimal movement. I changed the position of the wristband several times during my shift to reduce pressure and friction, but it only caused more irritation. Overall, the orthosis supported my knee very well. I would suggest if you are measuring close to the upper limit of the chart I would go up to the next size up. I will be buying an XL to try after my blisters have healed and the blisters are gone :/ Update: a few weeks later customer service contacted me to offer me a free replacement for the new sleeves that came out hoping to reduce the bubbles. . It took a few more weeks and on 5.2. they got in touch to say they had new sleeves and just wanted to make sure I was still interested in them. I said yes, I will have a chance to try them. The braces work really fantastic until after a day they blistered and I couldn't wear them anymore. To date, February 17, I have not heard a word and received no new ones.
