Review on Lifegard Aquatics Crystal Aquarium: Enhancing your Underwater Sanctuary by Jason Havens

Exhibit aquarium for aquariums

Great aquarium. If you want to buy it just like the tank you are demonstrating, buy it now, it is excellent value for money. That being said, I wasn't a fan of the filter method. The pump is a little underpowered for the nozzle that comes with it (various nozzles are sold but are quite expensive). It doesn't break the surface tension of the water even when it's pointing at the surface, so it doesn't do an amazing job of aerating the water. The inflow is great if you don't want to grow surface plants, but if you have small surface plants like duckweed or whatever they will get stuck/sucked in your mechanical filter. The instructions that come with the aquarium are not very meaningful if you have never used such a filter, i.e. the order in which you put the filter material in the pan. If I could do it all over again I would probably settle for a Lifegard Aquatics peninsula style tank. A weak pump wouldn't be such a big deal considering it faces the opposite end of the tank, not this one that's having trouble getting good flow to the opposite side of the tank.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Not sure
