Works slightly better than a mobile hotspot with a major GSM operator. I haven't tried it outdoors yet and am already satisfied. I live in a rural area and the lack of lower frequencies than the mobile hotspots I use doesn't seem to be an issue. Wi-Fi range is decent too, a little better than ZTE's hotspot products at best, but definitely better than Netgear's hotspot products. Just an occasional hotspot level crash. Advantages. 1. More menu options than hotspot, more network options2. Ability to add external antennas and manage them from the menu. 3. Better signal, speed and WiFi than most hotspots. minuses. The big ol' ugly SIM slot is getting harder and harder to find SIM cards this size and adapters can be tricky to install and remove2. These are unaesthetically built lights, very bright, large and brighten up a dark room, this thing can also serve as disco lights3. It is by no means a portable device.
