The brushes are soft, which makes blending powder easier, but not so soft that you can't use some of them as eyeliner brushes when needed. When I first got them they smelled really weird so keep that in mind. I would wash them first before going straight to makeup (it was a STRONG smell). And I have to say that although some of the bristles are a bit uneven, I haven't had a single fall out even after multiple uses and washes, which is very amazing! I use a beauty blender for liquid makeup, so I can't say for sure if these brushes are good for applying concealer or foundation, but they're just fantastic for powder. Products that normally cause fallout were actually able to adhere well to these brushes without the use of water spray. And I'm not sure if it matters, but my brushes were gray. I'm giving it four stars because of the unpleasant smell.
