Compact but a bit thin.
They are very nice and compact, but don't expect them to do really heavy work. I tried cutting medium weight fabric with it but had to give up and went with the X-acto blade instead. * UPDATE: I went from 3 to 4 stars. They're still not heavy-duty, but I tweaked them a bit by gently bending the blades inward to make them fit snugly and sanding the bevel a bit with a thin ceramic stone. Now they cut much more efficiently and I use them quite often.
