I bought this to use as a microphone and adapter for another headset but after inserting the 3.5mm headset plug into the handset, switched the radio immediately got a hot microphone After dismantling the receiver, I found that the entire connector for the headset connector had been incorrectly soldered. I was able to fix it myself, but unless you're familiar with simple circuitry and a soldering iron, you probably can't use a headset plugged into your phone.
