I will not judge this product by its packaging. It doesn't go as well with my wife's 2016 Honda CR-V as I would like, but it could go perfectly with other cars. The problem that I think made this product really useless for us is the magnets it contains. The magnets are terribly weak. I have nothing to compare this product to as my wife and I are regular users of the WizGear product (recently referred to as WixGear). WizGear/WixGear uses the strongest magnets we've ever come across. In fact, their magnets were so strong that when we had to remove the phone from the mount, the clamping mechanism on our latest mounts couldn't hold the device securely. It got frustrating when the entire device was taken out of the car along with the phone, so we decided to try a different brand. Well, it turns out the magnets in this device aren't strong enough to hold my wife's iPhone 8+ with a metal plate on the inside of her phone case (at least not a problem for WixGear products), and they are durable enough to keep the phone in place while driving, even with the plate attached to the case from the outside. It was a VERY disappointing experience.
