works well and the glowing bell is good and there is programmability but I took off two stars because the volume wheel is bad. Every time you pick up the phone, the volume may or may not be loud, it is not clear which way to turn the wheel to make it louder, and sometimes the wheel has a will of its own and becomes louder and quieter if you keep turning it. . . So it's less than useless - it's disappointing, especially for a non-tech-savvy 90-year-old who is the target market for this phone!
