This product works well. I only needed a hook reel. I didn't use a felt roller that fits hooks. Place strips approximately 3' x 6' on the wall, then simply attach the Navajo rugs to the strips with hooks. The red blanket weighs about 8 pounds. No sign of movement and the carpets have been there for days. I attached a piece of the hook bar and then carefully removed it. If you just pull the box the way you fold it, it won't take paint or a dry wall. My guess is that the negative reviews just weren't posted properly or their walls weren't painted properly. Perhaps the wall was heavily textured. my walls are smooth Plan to buy another roll to hang other items on the wall.
