I bought two of these towels before a 10 day hike. I washed them according to the instructions before use. They do an excellent job of drying (you have to blot more than rub) but every time I used this towel I got covered in dark fluff (I bought the purple one). So much fuzz it felt like I had tons of dirt under my nails. It's really frustrating to finally shower after days of hiking and camping in 100 degree heat, only to be immediately covered from head to toe. My husband didn't even use his after seeing the disaster the mine caused. Instead we bought a $2 cotton towel. Save your frustration, get over it and buy what REI has to offer.
