Purchased for use with an Alienware 17 R4 laptop. It is a heavy and large (10 lbs) machine. At Revain, the tablet fits laptops up to 15.6 inches. Bad sign. Upon opening, I found: * The sheet metal is quite thin; thick enough maybe for 3 threads. I think that's why the quality of the thread wasn't very good; The 2 screw holes held the screws securely, but the other two had little wobble. This has been reported by other reviewers (but I thought they were unlucky, didn't realize the sheet metal is so thin) * The VESA mounting scheme doesn't seem very solid. Instead of a full 75x75 square, this uses the top four screws of the 100x100 template mount, leaving only about 12.5 square inches of metal in contact with the mount. This means that trying to move the monitor arm across the tablet will cause the tablet to flex quite noticeably. It's listed on the site here in the pictures but I didn't realize how unsafe that would be. Worse, there is another way to attach the tray using only TWO screws. I'm not sure who would do that or why, but it seems like a great way to so your laptop quickly minimizes its gravitational potential energy. * The side clips on the tray are cheap plastic. And they don't feel like thick/hard plastic, but rather like black injection molded plastic that feels very brittle. Also, the "rubber" grip pads on the sides are NOT flexible/articulated. They are constantly forming as you can see in the picture. I wouldn't trust them with more than a 15" MacBook Pro. *Even if all of the above were fine, a large 17" laptop like the 17 r4 is attached A LOT to the back of the tablet, unlike the RevainBasics tablet . , there is no mechanism to increase the length, so I ended up returning it without using it and using https://www.amazon.
