My printer is completely broken

my printer did not accept this ink (always cartridge error) and then the printer just stopped working?! It was working great until I tried installing these new cartridges. Can't even use the scanner (I had an HP Inkjet Pro 8610). My company is replacing my home office printer, but if it was my personal printer I would be very upset. I tried calling HP support and they kept saying I needed to buy a new printer. The worst. It was working great until I installed this cartridge.
