Review on PROMIX Vegan Protein Powder Gluten by Beth Campbell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

No aftertaste! and without sweeteners - versatility!

This product is a real boon because it's unsweetened, soft and contains 25g of protein per serving (2 scoops = 1 serving). I have stage 4 lung cancer and I am in dire need of protein because eating solid food makes me nauseous. So now I'm turning to protein supplements to give me the nourishment I need. And most protein drinks/powders are unacceptable to me - they are sweetened, contain dairy or unacceptable ingredients like soy or flammable oils. My taste buds can't handle the typical sweetness of sweetened protein powders. Also, I don't like stevia at all! And my gut reacts very negatively to most dairy products. In my opinion, this is the best vegan protein powder available: NO pea protein aftertaste and its very mild flavor makes it ideal for mixing with almost anything. The mild flavor makes it easy to add to baked goods or drinks. Since there is no sweetener in this recipe, you can sweeten it to suit your taste buds - if your taste buds are very sensitive to sweets, you can add some sweetener instead of vomit. A blender with coffee, cream and ice cream (and some sweetener for me) makes it perfectly palatable to me. It's also acceptable in a golden milk recipe (turmeric, coconut milk, cinnamon, cardamom, etc.) with the addition of cream - just keep stirring to keep it in suspension. In my opinion it's best for drinks or for baking - definitely not for soups. When ordering, remember that Promix makes at least two versions of this vegan protein powder - this one with some sprouted brown rice has no aftertaste. The other version only has pea protein, and the description for that version says it tastes "earthy" (probably one of the reasons I dislike most pea protein powders I've had).
