This is a great monitor mount. You can choose between 3 installation methods. 1) With the supplied clamp. 2) Use an existing hole in your desk (such as a cable management hole) or 3) Drill your own small hole as shown in the instructions. I decided to use the 2 existing cable management holes I have on my desk. I removed the plastic cable hole inserts that came with my desk and simply screwed the brackets to the desk through the holes. (I bought 2 separate mounts, one for each monitor.) They are VERY strong. One of my monitors is very heavy and the mount holds it up with no problems.
