I used an old BA USB cable with an adapter for C and it worked, but if you can get the adapters out of the way , it is cleaner to set high. So this cable looks really nice with the cloth insulation, and it almost looks like it's a microphone cable. I have a similar black and white hanging cord that makes the cord look like it came with a set. It connects functionally on a "plug and play” basis. The mic kicks on instantly and the delay is no more and no less than when I plug the same mic into my old laptop with a standard device cable. As for durability, time will tell, but it's likely all will be fine, isn't it. manufactured by Apple.
