I bought this to make installing my laptop easier by placing it between a PC dock and a PC laptop. On first boot I had issues with Windows 10's multi-screen feature. The system had trouble turning on both monitors. It got into a loop where the second monitor would cycle on and off and the mouse could not be used on that display. There seems to have been a cabling problem which was solved by connecting directly to the PC. I won't say it's useless, but test your use case before production.
