My 9 year old stepdaughter wore this to our wedding. That's good for her. (At this age, I think they're still pretty much unisex.) The material is durable enough that she could ride her bike in it and get it dirty before the ceremony. I threw it in the washing machine and it came out fine. She was very excited about being an innovative fashionist/ring bearer/secret agent while looking cool without a dress.
