They exceeded our expectations in color and flame realism. Their light color is very close to that of a miniature Christmas garland, and the sparkling effect is quite realistic. I read some other reviews where people weren't happy with the color. I don't know if the company changed the LED or if it's just a batch variant. We have different LEDs for under cabinet lighting and have encountered significant color differences when replacing the bulb with the same model. The timer function works better than expected. Basically, you turn them on the first time and choose how many hours you want them on, and they'll turn on at that time every day without you having to touch the remote for the rest of the season. Just note that you'll need to do this at the time of day you want it on as there's no clock on the remote. The range of the remote control is only about three meters. This probably isn't a problem for most people, but we have a tall window that requires a ladder to place a candle, meaning the ladder has to be up until you set the timer. I hope the batteries last a full season and will update this review once I see how long they last. We work six hours a day.
