I bought this brush because I didn't like the hardness of my real badger hair brush and I wanted something softer that didn't shed as many fibers. Well, this brush is very soft. I wanted something softer (and to be honest the reviews said this brush was soft) but it's so soft I had a hard time lathering it up in a soap dish. Then it was more difficult to apply shaving foam to the face. I'm still giving it 4 stars because I've seen only one strand come loose in 4 uses, compared to 2-3 in 1 use on my badger hairbrush. Also because it is soft as advertised, which is what I wanted. The brush appears to be well made. The handle is also a good weight.
