Review on 💆 TimTam Pro: Advanced Handheld Power Massager for Deep Tissue Muscle Recovery - 5 Programmed Settings & Travel Bag Included by Walter Harmon

Great idea with terrible execution.

I have a couple of these percussive massagers and am a fan of the concept. I heard about TimTam a few times from Joe Rogan and when I heard about the idea of him having Heat now I was hooked. Before that I bought a generic Chinese knockoff which was good for the money but not very good. I liked it so much that I ended up buying the Theragun which is certainly expensive but is actually top quality - and honestly I expected the TimTam to be comparable. In terms of build quality, I would say that Theragun is a BIT better. , but that's not enough for me to say that it has a real advantage over TimTam - in my opinion, both devices are of high quality. The fake I have is definitely of lower quality but it remains to be seen if this will affect the lifespan. Design wise I personally prefer Theragun again, I find it's a much slimmer design while TimTam is a bit bulkier - and Chinese is again a big loser but ultimately I don't care as it lives in a drawer most of the time and I do I'm really only interested in the performance. In terms of performance, the TimTam's high temperature is definitely a winner - I really like the heated option, it's a great idea, although I wish there was a way to turn it on as it's warm rather than hot, so feel I'm just trying to see what's possible. As far as percussion goes, I really can't say enough about the difference between Theragun and TimTam to say I'd prefer one over the other - and to be honest the Chinese isn't that bad - so it is for me much more intense opinion. Run. , and probably more down to preference than anything else – EXCEPT FOR HEAT, THIS IS A GAME CHANGER IN MY THOUGHT. And now we come to the usability/interface and that's why you're seeing 1 star here and not 5. It's probably one of the worst designed products I've seen - it doesn't automatically turn off if you forget it turn it off (and you will), it's guaranteed to die. The location of the power and speed change buttons are places where they are easy to press, so using them changes the speed and you have to switch between them again. The head turns on by holding + for 5 seconds, totally unintuitive, especially considering it has a button with a thermometer that shows the temperature at the end? Doesn't matter? And then there's another key that probably does something different, but I've lost interest in remembering how long I had to hold down which random key for it to do something. Really shockingly bad design and surprising as even Chinese (which is a bit wonky) is actually more intuitive than this. Initially I had no real opinion, positive or negative, on using Theragun as it seemed ok, but after using TimTam it's like using an iPhone against a 1990's PalmPilot. At the moment any of the Chinese knockoffs are probably good enough to see if you're really going to use them - and if you do and think it's cool then buy Theragun or TimTam. Personally I hope they make a fixed version of this with a decent user interface, more flexibility in terms of speeds and higher temperatures - and with these changes I think the TimTam would be one of the best, if not the best, percussion machines - but the way it is developed now is the difficult pass in my book.
