Fantastic gaming monitor for the price

I bought this during a treasure truck deal and it's an amazing monitor for the price. Gsync works great, colors are vibrant and 165Hz is no problem with the included cable. HDR is a bit weak and I wouldn't buy this monitor if you expect great HDR quality, but at this price point it's very hard to come by. . I also strongly recommend you download the ICC profile from techless youtube as the color accuracy is a bit off standard compared to my other monitor. After the ICC profile and a little manual tweaking, it's extremely accurate and the colors are fantastic. Watch the non-technical video on YouTube that walks you through the color setup and provides a link to the ICC profile. The ips glow was minimal on my panel which was amazing and using this ICC profile also helped black appear black rather than grey. The button layout is a bit awkward, so it's best to set this monitor up before you put it in a specific location. Also, when you first install the monitor, some sort of HP Omen program is forced to load. I would recommend that you remove it after final setup. The response time is decent, but absolutely useless beyond level 2, the overshoot is extremely noticeable and looks terrible. Level 2 was the sweet spot for me, 3 is "doable" but I would only recommend it for fast paced games that don't really care about graphics. Finally, note that HP has started shipping them with BOE panels (BIMM111). I was lucky enough to get Lg (LIMM111 or LIMM 101). I've heard of quality control issues with Boe panels, so be sure to test your monitor thoroughly before returning it. You can find this part number on the box or by holding down the power and menu buttons on the monitor during startup. Another great monitor and at $170 I would highly recommend it if it suits your needs. Don't expect good HDR, you will be disappointed.
