Broke too easily for reading glasses

I've had these reading glasses for a year and have always kept them in a sturdy case. And with Covid I wear my Rx goggles most of the time. The shackle fell off and I tried gluing it on, but the snap-hinge construction doesn't bode well for an adhesive mount. My point is: for $18 and little use, I think they should have lasted longer. I've had better luck with the dollar store readers that I threw in my car's glove box.
