I've read other reviews about quality and rust issues. The only reason such cast iron cookware rusts is improper care. I've used cast iron in my kitchen for years, including a giant skillet I inherited from my great-grandmother, and have never had a problem with rusting. All cast iron cookware should be completely emptied and dried after use and returned to the stove where residual heat on the burner will evaporate any remaining moisture. And even if you accidentally find some rust, it can be cleaned and will not ruin the kettle if handled properly. However, this little teapot is a delight. My wife and I love this. I was born in Japan and understand Japanese culture very well, so it's nice to have a classic Japanese teapot on the stove. The teapot arrived in a beautiful box with Japanese characters, carefully packaged and in perfect condition. I followed the instructions using google translate app with photo option (try it, it works). It was fun reading some of the mistranslated words, but it helps you get the hang of it. There will be some cloudiness in the beginning, so heat and rinse the kettle several times with fresh water until the water runs clear from the kettle. After that you can brew tea. You can use the jug just to heat the water, or you can heat the water and then put loose tea in the included strainer or use tea bags. Good quality product as advertised, no plastic, no enamel, no bullshit. Simple and easy to use. I did a lot of research before buying. There are many "Japanese" teapots for sale, but this one is real. Great value for money, highly recommend.
