Review on πŸ”§ 8MILELAKE Professional Brake Caliper Winding Tool by Joe Lantz

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works reasonably well with brake release tools

was definitely practical. works as expected but a few small complaints.1. The plastic mold on the body for holding parts isn't the best. Some of them are too tight making it difficult to take them out and put them back in, while others aren't tight enough and always leave those pieces out when I open the case. It really doesn't matter.2. The hand tool I wished was a bit longer as that would provide better leverage. If your calipers aren't too old they should spin with them just fine, but if they are old and maybe starting to get a little "sticky" it will be quite difficult to get them to spin. Well, if your piston is stuck like that, maybe it's time for a new caliper, or maybe disassemble it, give it a good clean and put it back together (if that's something you enjoy doing). But I don't think you should be able to bend a hand tool with your hand like I could. And I'm not that strong. I had a push handle all the way down one side so I could fully grip one side for maximum leverage instead of squeezing it like a bar, so I put some decent pressure on it, but a thicker bar wouldn't hurt. In any case, it didn't bend much and I can still use it.

Pros
  • Includes storage case and pair of gloves.
Cons
  • The price of the piggy bank
