Review on Teva Hurricane Sport Sandal Trail Men's Shoes: The Perfect Athletic Footwear by Kyle Robbins

More expensive for a reason

I have owned Teva sandals and other brands in the past. I've come to the conclusion that Tevas are much more expensive than the Chinese imitations because they are so much better made. (1) The straps go completely under the insole to avoid tearing. (2) The quality of the foam and rubber in the outsole is much higher, which improves durability and comfort. (3) The straps are tubular webbing, not flat webbing, so it feels much softer. I was able to compare them directly to a $50 pair I bought 2 years ago from a well known brand that rhymes with "ready flower”: the straps are already snapping and the difference in comfort is day and night. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of fastex or velcro so you have to rip the velcro off every time you take them off. I assume that the velcro will wear out over time. If you are half the size, round down.

Pros
  • Comfortable and light
Cons
  • The sandals are not fully waterproof, making them unsuitable for water sports such as swimming or boating.
