Review on Othmro Bearing 686 2RS Shielded Bearings by John Rivera

Every aspect of the description of this item is correct *except* the most important one which is the material of the bearings themselves. They appear to be and are chrome steel 100% magnetic. If they were ceramic they wouldn't stick to the ends of the neodymium magnets like the picture I took after taking them apart. I specifically needed non-magnetic bearings, so I don't need those. The cost and hassle of returning it is not worth it. I hope this rating prevents someone else from getting it. The reason I believe this is intentionally false advertising: 1. The price is too low to be real pottery which means they knew they didn't actually have what they claimed to have. The only way to be sure it's not ceramic is to disassemble it completely, which by definition makes it irretrievable. It's clear the company is hoping customers won't notice it's steel and not ceramic, and that if customers do notice, they won't return them. Well well done you have a sucker but I hope this will prevent anyone from becoming a victim!
