I already have a shorter pair that I wear hiking and they work great, but I recently bought Zensah knee length compression stockings and found them while hiking off the beaten track in Florida where I winter , that I picked up a lot of thorns quite often, since I very rarely wear long pants. So I ordered them just for socks. They fit the same as my shorter ones, hook into the laces over my boots, have velcro closures to the knees, and are secured at the top with a buckle system that clamps the strap. Since my legs are a little thin below the knees, I found that the strap was not tightened enough, and in the smallest position, the locking buckle didn't always hold tight. Even when I'm finally secured, I'm left with a long belted tail to tuck into my gaiters at the top. Just a little annoying, but acceptable. Overall, they are quite light and very well made. The lower leather strap that runs under the arch of the boot has lasted 2 years on my shorter ones with no wear. They also come with an ENDLESS WARRANTY so you are well protected. Great in the rain but not in waders. It also never gets hot, even if they are black. Overall, I am quite satisfied and would buy it again at any time. Even my husband has a few as well as many hikers in our Florida Trail Association.
