I bought two of these lights to control lights for a Christmas decor. I wanted them to switch between different modes at night (Auto mode). I found that they did this for a while and then stuck to a specific red and white regime. So after a few tries with the settings I chose one of the other modes to set instead of the automatic mode, only to later find it back to the red and white mode. Why? I know this is a disadvantage as both controllers do the same thing. I will choose a different brand next time. Disappointing.
