I found the ingredients on this diet acceptable. I've been analyzing pet food labels for ten years to try to provide my cats with quality food at a reasonable price. Two of my male (neutered) Persian cats developed struvite crystals in their urine from eating this food and both had 3 episodes of ileus. (EVERYONE). With this type of obstruction, crystals in the urine block the penis and cats cannot urinate. It is incredibly painful and heartbreaking for them to experience themselves in the role of owner. It is believed that these crystals are mainly caused by the cat's PH level (related to diet) as well as low water intake. I have paid $800 to $1500 three times to have two male cats blocked. Eventually I operated on both of them (perineal urethrostomy), removed the curvature of their genitals and made them women. I could no longer watch her suffering and the cost of constant obstacles was outrageous. It cost an additional $3,000 to operate at PU. I also have a cat that had the exact same issues, except it's not a life or death emergency for women as it's hard for cats to tune out like men do. These commercial products are getting worse and worse. they better hide it! $9,000 and the pain my poor kids have been going through they say avoid this food!
