UPDATE: This only works if you disable access control in your router. Then everything is fine. UPDATE: Everything worked for me, but nothing in the instructions helped me. If you can make your extender visible to the router, log in to the extender using a browser and the extender's IP address displayed on your router. You need to create an account and then follow the instructions with smart settings or something like that. I have a router for my LAN and modens for Comcast. My error described below occurred with a Comcast modem that had WPS enabled. I was able to connect to my old router that didn't have WPS enabled. Find out. I haven't tried the smart setting in the Comcast modem extender. Much luck. Watch out for MAC address filtering and other things. =============================== Right now, EX2700. I have an xfinity modem. No WEP security. I went by the WPS method. I connected everything as it says in the instructions. I can see my extender when I log into my xfinity modem as a connected device from my desktop. I can access the internet from my laptop through a wireless connection with an extender. I CANNOT connect my Android phone or iPad to the internet with the extender, even though I can log into the extender from either device. I went to the trouble of registering my device on the Netgear website. NO SUPPORT. General advice only. Big waste of time. This is a common problem. Most of the solutions I've seen posted online by angry users don't make any sense to me. Terrible experience. The last time I bought a Netgear product.
