Review on πŸŽ₯ Manfrotto MVK500AM Black Lightweight Fluid Video System: Superior Stability with Twin Legs and Middle Spreader by Peris Auditore

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Tolerable head, bad legs, no spikes

I've had one for two years now, mainly for shooting birds and other animals. The weight is acceptable and the fluid head is adequate, although it's a little sticky when panning at high zoom and a lot stickier when tilting. Unfortunately, the head has a non-standard 60mm dish that's almost impossible to transfer to another tripod. And I would like to pass that on. distribution problem. It attaches to the legs with a soft plastic hinge that doesn't offer any rigidity, just keeps the legs from spreading further. I have to say held. The first hinge broke when the tripod fell over. The other two are broken with age. Currently, the spacer is attached to the legs with pieces of wire for hangers. The expander's loose design also requires the use of a rubber band to hold the legs together when the tripod is moved. Yes, every time I pick up a tripod and move to a different location, I have to snap the rubber bands around the legs. And that gum would have fallen right off if I hadn't tied one end to my leg. Add that you can't buy cleated legs for this model which I would really prefer in nature and so my 3 star rating seems generous indeed. If I worked in the studio it would probably be a good deal, but in the field it was the wrong choice. Live, pay and learn.
