The maximum wattage of this lamp is an acceptable equivalent to the low wattage of my Torchiere lamp if it were fitted with a 150 watt halogen lamp, but this is much less than the maximum wattage of a true 150 watt halogen lamp. .The color temperature is also warmer than a halogen lamp and flickers when the lamp is set on low. The only real benefit of these lights is that they don't get hot enough to burn wayward insects like a true halogen bulb does.
